MERAKI DESIGN GROUP

“Meraki” embodies the dedication to investing of oneself into  their work —a principle that is pivotal to how we approach our projects as architects. We fully engage in each project, while maintaining open communication with our clients. Our primary aim is to foster collaborative journeys where our experience and client visions align and converge into comprehensive design that transcends mere brick and mortar.

At MDG, we welcome projects of all scales, recognizing each as an opportunity for creative expression. Based in Karachi, our diverse design portfolio covers approximately 1.5 million square feet, ranging from high-rises to residential spaces, institutional buildings, corporate and retail interiors, as well as furniture and product design, supported by project management services.

Founded in late 2018 by Mariam Nabi and Wasim Shekhani, both alumni of the Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, our partnership brings together 24 years of combined experience. With local expertise and international exposure in Sri Lanka and Germany, we offer a balanced perspective on every project we undertake.

Mariam firmly believes that less is indeed more. Guided by instinct and intuition, she examines the essence of each project, unraveling its layers to discern the what, why, and how of its purpose and objectives. This focused approach not only enriches her design solutions but also adds significant value to the planning process.

Driven by a holistic perspective,  Mariam creates designs that go beyond surface aesthetics. She is committed to making a meaningful impact on users’ lives, crafting experiences that resonate deeply and leave a lasting positive impression. Through her deliberate and strategic design process, Mariam consistently delivers solutions that not only meet functional requirements but also enhance overall well-being in the spaces she creates.
